The last month of summer has past here in Australia and although it wasn’t the best one weather wise here in Melbourne, we still got some pretty good parties around the city. Piknic Électronik’s first season delivered some of the best Sunday daytime tunes, ending with M.A.N.D.Y at event #11 and Guillaume Coutu Dumont for the last event #12 as the headliners.
Starting this month’s chart list is Matt Sassari from France with ‘Montarjan’ on label Bouq with a smokin’ tech house track with pulsating beats and rattles. Up next is Nicola Assi with ‘Upon’ released on refused with dark beats and scary reverbs. Jonas Saalbach made a lush remix of Arjuna Schiks’ track ‘Ada’ which is a nice and dreamy track with awesome live percussion feel.
From one of my favourite labels, Senso Sounds, we got a new EP release from Hatzler called ‘Antidote’, and the second track that named this EP definitely has a spot on the top 10 releases from March. It has that dark alluring sound that I just love. Following this is DJ Lilocox – ‘La Party’; a funky tech song with nice toms and a playful sitar melody. There’s also a free download of this song on Mixmag!
More funky tunes is coming from Simion’s ‘Give You Love (The Piano)’ on Suara Records with piano riffs that goes straight into your limbs and make you wanna dance – it will be a total bomb on the dance floor. Emanuel Satie released a heavy kick track called ‘Do It’ on Gruuv, and another great Dirtybird track was delivered by Shiba San called ‘Planet Floor’.
Lastly we have a techno track from Citizenn on 20:20 Vision Records which is her own dub version of her track ‘Be’ with sweet 80’s sounding riffs and vocals. Ending the list is probably one of my absolute favorites from this month, Alex Moments with ‘Blow The House Down’ on Antura Records, probably because of it’s funky guitar picks and dubby bass. Aaooh let’s go dancing now!
There you go, my top 10 new releases from March 2015! Which ones do you dig the most?
