KONTRAST Mini Mix Series #1.4 – DJ KITI

It’s finally time for the finale of KONTRAST Mini-Mix Series #1. For our final mix we have the amazing DJ Kiti who has been around for a long time in Melbourne’s music scene. She has run seminal club nights at Roxy (7 years) and Loud at Honkytonks (4 years) and DJing along side techno and houses’ global finest, bands and festivals of the moment, into prolific institutions all over Melbourne. Whenever you see this lady on the bill you know it’s gonna be a good party.

Kiti is also fashion obsessed and had musically curated fashion shows for L’Oreal Fashion Week (2011 & 2012) and the LGBT crowd as also embraced the music of hers. With residencies at various LGBT club nights such as John, Through X (first woman to enter and DJ on premises), Poof Doof and Crass and frequent guest spots at clubs like Survivor, OneSixOne, Danceteria and Revolver as well as techno staple parties like Machine, Pleasure Planet & Bunker, Handle Bar (Syd) and the House Of Mince (Syd) who were responsible for the legendary Mince Meat warehouse parties.

Dj Kiti also recently (2013) played main room at Watergate in Berlin along side DJ Hell and when in England she DJed in the Londons East. Kiti has recently supported Rrose, The Hacker & A Guy Called Gerald to name a few. This techno superstar is also a co-boss of Lightspeed Recordings which tops the dance charts on a regular basis and has spurned her foray into production, edits and remixing.

What do you miss most about being a kid?

The small window of innocence.

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?

Pop a cork! Then do the responsible and humanitarian stuff, but pressing some Lightspeed Records would be on the list.

Which cartoon character do you resemble the most?

I would be Shaggy from Scooby Doo – DJ SHAGGY!

Ladies and gentlemen, here you have the ‘short sweet and sexy’ KONTRAST Mini-Mix #1.4 as described by DJ Kiti herself. Enjoy the thumping basslines and igniting kick drums from artists like Eduardo De La Calle, Norman Nodge, Len Faki and Ben Klock. What a way to end series #1!
