February Top New Releases Chart

February Chart Cover 2016

The last month of this Aussie summer has been filled of lots of great techno and tech house. From this event-filled month there has been many inspiring sets from the likes of Ryan Elliot, Kate Miller, Christian Vance, Robag Wruhme and Archie Hamilton. Then there’s this never ending stream of releases from all around the world with lots of quality productions and compelling beats. So let’s have a look at the top releases I’ve found from February!

I mean some people just has it. The talent, the passion, the drive – IT. I’m talking about KiNK again and his remix of Kerrier District’s ‘Techno Disco’ that took first place on this month’s chart list. Coming next is Bart Skils’ heavy duty track ‘Black Vans’ on Drumcode that I am truly fond off. A great addition to the Swedish label that continues to deliver!

The third place goes to T & P which is the alias of Tim Sweeney and Phillip Lauer. Their track ‘Shoot The Freak’ was released on Beats In Space Records and it’s a well balanced and groovy tech house creation. UMEK released a new track called “Double The Lust’ under the 1605 label. He says that “This one goes to all you, who come home on a Saturday morning and get it on with your other half. Usually against the wall, bordering that grumpy cat lady on the other side”. We can tell this by the tension building bassline and wild percussions and heavy breathing beats! Oh la la.

Next up is Premiesku – ‘Bucur’ that was premiered on Mixmag and released on Loco Dice’s imprint Desolat. With atmospheric flutes, sirens and cymbals along with tribal elements it’s something quiet special! On the chart list we’ve also got Enrico Sangiuliano’s remix of Vangelis Kostoxenakis – ‘Son Of A Gun’ released on Suara. This one goes well along the label’s techno style with big drops, powerful beats and fascinating textures.

On Helms’ second EP on Voltage Musique I discovered ‘Way To Orbit’ which takes us to a higher level with exceptional beats and mesmerising chords. And then there’s the techno train track ‘Awakening Talos’ by Jason Fernandes with surging bass and piercing hi-hats. A late night favourite that will kick up any dance floor for sure!

Ruben Mandolini did a great remix of Wade’s ‘Monfive’ which was released on NONSTOP. He transformed a jacking tech house track with fun vocals into a deep tribal with tingling clicks and thumping bass. Those beats you just can’t stay still to! And lastly we’ve got ‘Break It Down’ by Philip Bader & Niconé which is an excellent dance floor pleaser with ticking percussions and thumping big room drums with a relentless vocal sample that keeps you stomping and stomping!
